Company Promotes Patrick Mayne

CHARLOTTE, NC – January 20, 2020 – Quality Products & Machine, LLC, a leading manufacturer of precision metal components and fabricated assemblies, announced Monday that it has promoted Patrick Mayne to the newly created position of Operations Manager effective immediately.

“Patrick has made significant contributions during the years he has worked with us,” said Quality Products President Kevin Farmer. “His efforts are outstanding, and this has resulted in him being promoted twice in the past two years. He is now assuming overall responsibility for our entire shop including estimating and quoting.”

Patrick began his career with Quality Products in 2013, initially serving as lead machinist. He was promoted to Machining Manager in 2018. Pat spearheads the company’s lean manufacturing efforts. He previously worked for Firestone in Charlotte and attended Central Piedmont Community College.

“I really enjoy working for this company,” Patrick said. “Kevin has given me a great opportunity to grow and advance. Quality Products fully supports its employees and wants us all to be successful.”

“Promoting Patrick to Operations Manager was an easy decision,” President and CEO of Compass Precision (Quality Products’ parent company) Gary Holcomb said. “Patrick has extensive knowledge of CNC machining and has initiated numerous plant improvements as a result of our lean manufacturing activities. He has earned this promotion. I am very happy for him.”

Quality Products operates from a 47,000-square-foot facility in Charlotte, NC at 4600 Westinghouse Boulevard. It manufactures complex prototype and low-to-mid volume metal parts, with a focus on the power generation and defense markets.

Quality Products was founded in 1962. ZP Enterprises, LLC, an Atlanta-based firm, acquired majority interest in the company in 2010, then purchased the remaining ownership in 2018.

In 2019, ZP Enterprises decided to seek new ownership for three of its portfolio companies, including Advanced Machining & Tooling, LLC of Salisbury, NC and Tri-Tec Industries, LLC. of Charlotte, NC as well as Quality Products. It quickly reached an agreement with Main Street Capital Partners, a Pittsburgh-based private equity firm. Main Street acquired Quality Products and its two sister firms in October 2019 and placed them under a new umbrella company, Compass Precision, LLC.
