Bill Canning became President & CEO in January 2026 and brings extensive experience leading manufacturing and operations across complex, high-growth environments. Since joining the organization in 2023, he has focused on building the people, processes, and infrastructure required to strengthen the Compass platform. His experience spans global operations, program management, advanced manufacturing, and electric mobility, complemented by a hands-on foundation as a tool & die maker and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Lawrence Technological University. Bill’s focus is on building a high-performing organization through operational excellence, strong leadership, strategic growth, and the integration of complementary businesses to create a scalable platform for long-term value creation.

Paul joined Compass in February of 2020 as Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. Like the rest of the Compass management team, he has a strong CNC machining industry background. Paul worked for Paragon Metals from 2016 through early 2020, most recently as the firms’ Chief Financial Officer. Paragon machines tight-tolerance, precision-engineered metal components for the automotive industry.

Previously, he served in various accounting and finance roles for several other Charlotte-area manufacturing companies including IntraPac International, a specialty packaging company manufacturing plastic, laminate, tin and aluminum products. Paul has a BS in Business Administration and an MS in accounting, both from Georgia Southern University.

Jim Miller joined the organization in 2021 and was promoted to Vice President of Sales & Marketing in January 2026. With 25 years of experience in machining and fabrication, Jim brings a deep understanding of the customers, markets, and relationships that drive manufacturing businesses. He has founded and built two manufacturing companies during his career, giving him a firsthand perspective on entrepreneurship, business development, and the challenges of scaling a manufacturing operation. Jim leads the organization’s sales and marketing efforts with a focus on expanding customer relationships, developing new opportunities, and strengthening the commercial engine of the platform. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA.

Keith Felts became Vice President of Engineering in 2025 after more than three decades of leadership in precision manufacturing. He co-founded Advanced Machining in 1985 and served as President through decades of growth, including the company’s acquisition by Compass in 2019. Keith brings deep technical and manufacturing expertise to his role, with particular specialization in electrical discharge machining (EDM) and highly-complex multi-axis machining. Today, Keith applies his extensive industry and technical experience to strengthen engineering capabilities, support complex customer requirements, and expand the technical resources available across the Compass manufacturing platform.

Dan Parry joined the organization in 2026 after building a career in precision manufacturing, with leadership experience spanning complex component manufacturing, CNC machining technology, software, metrology, and related services. He leads commercial strategy, growth initiatives, and business transformation across the organization’s operating companies, with a focus on identifying opportunities, strengthening market position, and driving collaboration across the platform. Dan holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.

Bart Blocker is a technology executive with more than 25 years of experience leading IT organizations through growth, acquisitions, digital transformation, and cybersecurity modernization. At Compass, he leads the company’s technology strategy, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud applications, and regulatory compliance. His experience includes integrating technology across acquired businesses, implementing enterprise systems, and modernizing IT environments within private-equity-backed organizations. Bart’s focus is on building a secure, scalable technology infrastructure that supports Compass’s multi-site growth strategy while enabling the organization to operate more efficiently and effectively. He holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a BS in Finance from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
