Douglas Machining Services
Douglas Machining Services was founded in 2005 in Winona, Minnesota. Dan Douglas built the company on mill-turn machining, and it is still a big part of what the shop does. Douglas joined the Compass Precision platform in March 2021, and Compass Precision invested in additional mill-turn capacity soon after to keep pace with growing customer demand.
Douglas is a precision machine shop serving industrial and specialty customers across the upper Midwest and nationally. The shop runs high and low volume work, from a single prototype to ongoing production, and its reputation is built on short lead times and the ability to respond quickly when customers bring demanding part requirements. Multi-tasking mill-turn machines finish parts with turned and milled features in one setup, and milling and wire EDM cover the rest.
As part of the Compass Precision platform, Douglas Machining Services gives customers the responsiveness of a dedicated shop, backed by the broader capacity, shared systems, and coordinated support of a multi-site manufacturing platform.
