While most of Compass Precision’s equipment are CNC machining centers for creating flat surfaces and combo mill/turn machines, we also have an extensive collection of CNC lathes to manufacture circular parts. These lathes are often used in combination with CNC mills, and sometimes with other processes as well, to make complicated components requiring multiple manufacturing operations.

Compass has 27 CNC lathes to make precision metal and engineered plastic components. Many of these machines are Doosan or Haas units, providing the same commonality advantages that our Haas mills do in vertical machining.

Five of our Doosan machines are highly versatile Puma 2600s, four acquired since 2016. Standardizing our new lathe investments on the Doosan Puma 2600 helps provide options to handle surge capacity requirements as well as alternatives in case of equipment breakdowns.
