Quality Products’ Austin Donaldson Becomes Compass Precision Employee of the Month
Every month Compass Precision selects an Employee of the Month who embodies the quality, and second-to-none work ethic the company prides itself in. For the month of May 2022, Austin Donaldson of Quality Products and Machine has received the distinguished honor of being named Employee of the Month for his outstanding efforts in representing Compass Precision.
Austin, 23, a CNC Operator with Quality Products and Machine, has been with the company for 5 years and begin as soon as he graduated high school. In the beginning his role was part-time where he assisted with deliveries and shipping. Through his proactive approach and eagerness to learn, Austin worked his way up through the ranks of the company in a full-time role in the fabrication and machine shop. His daily responsibilities now include set-up and operator as well as part marking.
“I really enjoy so many aspects of my job and the organization as a whole,” said Austin. “It is a very chill and collaborative environment where everyone works together in ensuring the job gets done. I work with so many knowledgeable people, which has helped me grow professionally and learn as much as I can through taking notes and asking questions.”
The Charlotte, N.C. native expressed his surprise on being selected as the May Employee of the Month.
“I was shocked when I heard the news,” said Austin. “I really was not expecting it! It is a good feeling to be recognized and appreciated for my work efforts.”
The former high school baseball pitcher uses what he learned on the mound to help continue to excel in his professional career.
“I think it’s important to stay strong mentally and continue to push toward my future goals,” said Austin. “I know I have to pay my dues and work my way up by seizing opportunities when they come my way.”
Austin’s work ethic and thirst for knowledge does not end in his professional endeavors. The avid video gamer has his eyes set on broadening his horizons in the world of PC gaming.
“Professionally I really want to learn programming and delve more into that career path. Personally, I would love to be a pro-gamer and play in tournaments. My favorite game is Apex Legends for the PC,” said Austin. “I’m just taking things one day at a time and seeing where life takes me next.”
Besides work and video games, Austin is a huge NBA fan where his favorite team is the Charlotte Hornets and favorite player is Lebron James.
