“I’m extremely excited to take on the role,” said Jackie. “Working for an aerospace company is the coolest! During my job search I was looking for a job with career potential and this opportunity is a great fit. I’ve learned a lot of skills at the various companies I’ve worked for including 10 years of administrative/clerical experience, 6 years in accounting as well as several years of legal background.”
“We picked Jackie from an impressive pool of candidates’” explained Justin Kovscek, Vice President & General Manager of R&D Machine. “We are a small company, with everyone needing to contribute in many ways. Jackie fits that requirement to a tee.”
The Fredericksburg, VA native also lived in Bergenfield, NJ before settling in Palm Harbor, FL with her family. She looks forward to the new opportunity and helping R&D Machine continue to thrive and flourish into the future.
“After speaking with the other team members, I want to learn how to better utilize spreadsheets and streamline aspects of my position to better assist others,” said Jackie. “I want to focus on how to expand customer outreach and increase profitability.”
Through Jackie’s diverse personal and professional experience, her skillset and work ethic will prove to be an asset to R&D Machine and Compass Precision.
“Wearing a variety of different hats is something I do in both my personal and professional life,” said Jackie. “Having and raising a family is something that has helped me excel in fast-paced environments. How we choose to respond to obstacles is key. How you deal with adversity is everything. I’m glad I have those traits to handle whatever comes my way with accuracy, care, and timeliness.”
R&D Machine specializes in CNC machining of precision metal components for aerospace, defense, and space applications. Most of the company’s parts have complicated geometrics, are made of aluminum, and are used above the Earth’s surface, in either our atmosphere or in outer space.
“There’s an extreme amount of detail that goes into the part making process here at R&D,” said Jackie. “I’ve never worked in an advanced machine shop before, and aerospace technology is something I know little about. During my brief time at R&D I’ve learned so much. Working here is great. Everyone is very friendly, family oriented and I want to put my best effort forward to help the rest of the company. We are there for each other, working together to get the job done.”

R&D Machine also has lathes and both 3 and 4-axis mills. Using computer models of customer parts, R&D Machine expertly programs both the cutting tool paths needed to machine these components and the CMM’s to automatically measure every dimension.
R&D Machine’s quality system is certified to the ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D standards.
