Scott Harrington Joins Compass Operating Company

Charlotte, NC – June 30, 2022 – Compass Precision, a Charlotte-based manufacturer of custom, close-tolerance metal components for mission critical applications, announced Thursday that Scott Harrington has joined Quality Products in Charlotte as the company’s new Fabrication Manager.

“I’m happy to be back in a management role,” said Scott. “It’s really good company. I’ve identified some things I like to improve on and change. I want to use my vast amount of leadership and experience to improve the company and help it grow. There’s a lot of room for growth here at Quality Products.”

With the new role of fabrication manager comes a great deal of responsibility and Scott has what it takes to be successful.

“I have a lot of experience when it comes to machining and programming,” said Scott. “One of my biggest assets is my 20+ years of leadership experience. I believe if you’re a good leader, people will be motivated to produce and work at a high level. My leadership spans through coaching high school and college sports (wrestling, soccer, and swimming) for 15 plus years, serving in the Army for 7 years as an E-5 infantryman and drill sergeant as well as 25+ years of volunteer work in the non-profit sector.”

With Scott’s extensive background and unique skillset acquired from his variety of leadership experience, he would like to use these assets to help Quality Products continue to prosper into the future.

“We really liked Scott from the first time we met him,” explained Greg Donaldson, Quality’s Operations Manager to whom Scott reports. “He has a good combination of supervisory and manufacturing skills. We like that.”

When it comes to experience, leadership and setting others up for success, Scott brings much to the table across the board.

“My leadership style is driven, expecting a lot of others and I like to motivate and encourage others not to be afraid to step out of their comfort zone,” said Scott. “Attention to detail, time management, timeliness, organization and a proactive approach are all qualities that help me achieve success.”

Quality Products provides precision machining and fabrication services for OEM manufacturers, with significant experience serving customers in the aerospace, defense, and power generation industries.

Founded in 1962, the company handles projects from prototype to production and are ISO 9001:2015 registered.

Quality Products capabilities include 3 and 4-axis vertical and horizontal milling, turning, laser cutting, metal forming, welding, and assembly. The company runs daylight shifts M-F, plus lights-out manufacturing whenever possible.
